The food was pretty decent and the staff were pretty laid back and friendly. I’d recommend this place to people just wanting to have a few beers and some banter with mates. I didn’t win any brownie points with the mrs after picking this place and therefore was unsuccessful in the bedroom there after.
The Defiant Duck is a great option for a feed in the inner regions of Brisbane. There is a great offering of beers on tap, both local and international, and the staff are attentive and welcoming.<br/ <br/ On Tuesday's they have an awesome burger deal. $15.00 will get you a Burger, Fries and Soft Drink...you can also upgrade that to a beer for $20.00...definitely money well spent.<br/ <br/ The Defiant Duck has a casual, yet sophisticated, dining atmosphere with a great selection of American inspired fare to choose from. For the muso's out there, a real draw card is that fact that you can choose the play list that everyone listens to whilst you dine.<br/ <br/ I have attached a few photos of the food that was consumed on my visit, all of it was wonderful, would recommend to friends and family.
I walked in on a Saturday night without a reservation for drinks, and the manager was very welcoming and found us a table. We ordered drinks using the clever table top 'me&u' system. The drinks were excellent and came out in 5 minutes or less! I will definitely be returning!
Jacob, the bartender, was extremely professional and efficient. He should be recognized and rewarded for his hard work last night while taking care of a large group.
If you're a fan of American food like burgers, hot dogs, and fries, you'll love the menu here. We couldn't stop drooling just looking at it! We started off with the Char-Grilled Wings ($12.00) with buffalo sauce, served with a tasty blue cheese dipping sauce. The wings were not only flavorful but also had plenty of meat on them – a definite win in my book! Next, we tried the chicken tenders ($15.00) with a honey mustard dipping sauce...
