Matiz Latin Cuisine - Broad Channel

We went several people to eat as a family, which we regret.I usually don't have a problem with food, anywhere, but I couldn't get more than 3 bites before I put the food aside, I couldn't discover this taste but I was totally disgusted. It was the worst rice I have ever eaten. I tried again regardless, but I just couldn't.My father's dish had chewy meat, impossible to chew at first, then the waiter changed it and it was better but not quite good.My mother's food was tasteless.It was expensive compared to the quality of the food.Good atmosphere and good avocado.

We were really disappointed at the quality of the food on our most recent visit to Matiz. Chewy meat, black beans that tasted like they were just poured out of can. We had to leave a dish behind almost untouched. Despite the waiter's best attempts to help, a manager was not present to receive our feedback.Food: 1/5

The food was ok but expected more from high reviews. Some of the meat were dry and bland. The service was pretty slow. We waited close to half an hour for food and it was pretty empty around noon on a Sunday.Food: 3/5

Love this restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and lends to a perfect girls night out. Great music, the service is prompt and friendly. Diana, our server was amazing and so sweet. She was fun about recommending new drinks for us. I wish I had made note of the specific names. There was a mango one with chipotle, then one with blackberry, I believe, and then the other we tried I think was a flavored mojito. Literally, each drink was perfect. They were all on point.We had the surf n turf dinner, the vegetarian paella, yucca croquettes filled with cheese, spinach cheese and beef empanadas and guacamole. Delicious. My second time here and coming back for more.
