Excellent option to eat seafood, great space, good food, great service.
Refuses to give gloves for takeout orders. Even when they ask nicely, they don't do it.
My fiancé and I go to Surfing Crab all the time in McAllen and we always have an amazing experience, we were in the brownsville area today and decided to stop at the brownsville location with high expectations that we would have the same amazing experience as the McAllen location.As soon as we walked in we were just standing there waiting for a hostess to sit us, once we were seated we were sat at a booth directly under a dirty extremely loud air vent, we then had to wait a while for a waitress to take our order. We ordered the Daily Special (shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab) once our order was brought to our table and opened we noticed that the crawfish was missing and instead we got a lobster tail. When we pointed it out to our waitress that the crawfish was missing we asked if they could just bring out the missing crawfish to complete our original order.At this point we’re already eating our meal waiting for the crawfish to come out when another worker comes up to us picks up one of the paper plates from our table and tries to take the lobster tail from our plate that we’re already eating. When I noticed what she’s trying to do I let her know again that we will just keep the lobster tail since it was already brought to us.This same situation has happened once to us before at the McAllen location but the workers were extremely nice about it and let us know that the lobster tail was on the house since it was their mistake, they did NOT try and take it from our table.As for the food it was extremely undercooked and got cold really fast. In the end they charged us for the lobster tail that we barely even touched because it was really undercooked.Overall would not recommend this location, make the drive to McAllen you’ll have better food and a better customer service experience.
Got over charged on my tip after I was told gratuity was included in only 6 or more people. My table only had 3 people. Server even lied on my receipt and to my face after I asked about it. Thank you Christopher.
