Spent $52, food was excellent. But if you order Coke in a can it is served warm. If you want a cup with ice they charge you an additional $1.50. Outdoor dining was quaint but not kept clean. Lobster rolls for $20 certainly not the least expensive in Maine. We found that to be the going price just about everywhere. No indoor seating of any kind.
Interesting little locals place, we ordered crabcakes, seafood chowder, and lightly fried scallops. In general the prices are middle of the road for this locals place, crabcake was a little bit on the dry/breaded side for us, seafood chowder was a little bit lite on the seafood, mostly a hunk of fish and potatoes, very little lobster. The scallops were more heavily than lightly fried. Tartar sauce was very good. Nice eating area by water. Maybe we caught them on an off day but we weren’t horrible impressed.
Major disappointment… $22 lobster roll with too much Mayo and not enough lobster on a hot dog bun. We also ordered a grilled lobster tail for $10 which I thought was a good deal until we realized the [lack of] size of the tail 1.5 bites and gone! Never saw a lobster tail that small. Given the reviews we were hoping for excellence and this fell below average.
I usually have a good experience stopping in for a quick take out lunch but was severely disappointed when, first time, I ordered the crab cake sandwich. I know they’re expensive but I stay away from the super ridiculous priced items but what I paid for amounted to a crab cake pancake smaller than a Burger King sandwich that was, essentially, deep fried crumbs and not much else. Seriously. After my first bite I opened the sandwich and found something that was about a quarter inch thick and was the consistency of an oily puddle of cracker/bread crumbs and nothing recognizable as meat. I cook a lot of seafood. I’ve been making crab cakes for over 30 years. This was shameful to serve. At any price. I really hate giving a negative review because I like the place but…. this was pretty bad.
