Grand Dynasty Seafood Restaurant

This us our 2nd time having dimsum at this location and every time they charge us for tea for children who are below 5 years old. They will sneak it in the price.When you need more water of need another service it takes minimum 5 minutes to receive service and the servers are not fluent in English so you must reiterate 2 to 3 times to be understood. Also we had a bad experience where 1 of our order didn't cone out until we were almost finished and when we said to them we wanted to cancel the order they brought our the dish and insisted we take it. I decided not to tip and the lady at the cashier cursed under her breath in Chinese. I believe tipping is optional and I do tip if I receive average or excpetional service. These guys need to know the definition of what tipping is.

We came here for a family dinner on a Saturday night. We made reservations. The place wasn’t hopping busy like most Asian restaurants. We ordered 7 dishes for the 10 of us and had leftovers from a couple of dishes. It’s a high-end restaurant serving high-end prices. I personally feel the prices were on the high side which the food quality was mediocre. We had the fish maw soup with crab (didn’t really see too much crab); pea shoot with crab ($25); spicy squid (most flavourful dish); Peking duck (crepes were perfect and sufficient duck meat with crispy skin); bok choy with pieces of fish; seafood and tofu hot pot (didn’t expect pieces of meat in it); sweet & sour pork; and fried rice (least favourite with a funky taste to it, probably msg). They serve authentic delicacies meaning they aren’t ocean wise conscious. Definitely not attuned to protecting the sharks or swallows. That's my main reason for the lower rating. The standard complimentary sweet bean soup is offered along with a plate of almond cookies for dessert. Considering it was a high-end place, service could have been better. I’ve been to other Chinese restaurants where they change our dishes but this wasn’t the case. No one asked how the meal was or if we needed anything. I probably won’t go back for dinner but willing to try their dim sum. The restaurant is elegant and clean. The restaurant is located outside the casino off Willingdon and free parking is available across the street or metered parking on the street.

I have a business diner with people from around the world , it is so hard to find a elegant Chinese restaurant in Vancouver ,with great service ,and authentic food ,I read so much about this place , so ,great opportunity to check it out , ,it is very upscale Chinese authentic restaurant ,very elegant and NOT CHEAP ! ,very clean ,the best of the best ,I order the set dinner menu (around 600 $ ) ,it is excellent ,the presentation and the service is A1 , the lobster is so fresh with the noodle , perfectly cooked , a lot of street and casino parking ,very safe and easy to find ,it is excellent place for meeting or wedding , not a place for young kids or babies ! my bill comes to over $900 .00 and 25% tips ! not Cheap ! for ten people ,but it worth every penny ! Lunch is lot cheaper , so ,try it out ,for real elegant Chinese food !

The dim sum is great, it's considered a higher end dim sum place in Van. They have some unique flavours here. Definitely one of those places you tend want to hit up from time to time. I don't know about their dinner menus.

When we were next to the delta, 3 of us decided to eat in the grand dynasty on recommended one of my Chinese customers who joined us for dinner. we had a very tasty meal of bbq half duck, steamed whole rock fish. in ingwer and green twill sauce, deep fried calamari, thin cut bark meat with baby choi, and fried rice with bark meat. I'm sorry I don't know the Chinese names for these dishes, as we leave my Chinese friend and customer order for us. everything came to the table piping hot and absolutely delcious. the fried rice had a bit of a smokey note on what was really nice. the service was very fast and the waiter was attentive without 'hovering', the only mistake I found was that they were from a few beer types that one of us tried to order. except this little one, the evening was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would return anytime.
