Arrived at lunchtime on Sunday, very fated and old fashioned inside, ordered food and 2 drinks, advertised was roast dinner, i opted for the lamb when it came it was a lamb shank which I wasn't expecting, it must have been one of the boil in the bag ones, it was awful, the rest of the dinner wasn't that bad but wasn't home cooked, everythimg was frozen, husbands soup was like a bowl of dish water with a ton of pepper thrown in, I don't think it had ever seen a butternut squash, ordered a black coffee that never arrived and had to ask 4 times for it, definitely won't return we will stick to the beautiful cafe facing the pub
Really unpleasant staff stayed at the caravan park told us no food yet lots of tables Then on Saturday popped in at lunch to book and told us was full, felt disappointed as the staff on Friday evening told us to pop in at lunch on Saturday Very rude staff only for locals
We were really looking forward to eating at the pub after recommendations however, after waiting over an hour for our food we politely enquired as to how much longer it may be. The response we got was very poor to say the least. No apology, just it's on now, whatever that meant we don't know. When it finally arrived it was ok. If we go again we will ask up front as to how long it will be!
Very friendly staff. Great food. I thoroughly recommend the beef suet rag pudding. We were staying at the CAMH club site next door.
