Huge selection of food. The fish burger is all sorts of delicious! As it the holoumi! Oh my goodness. So good. The owner was on site when we visited and he is a typical Greek character. Can't help but love him!
Had a banquet with the family at this restaurant. Food was very fresh, tasty and served quickly. Only gripe is bloke (owner?) wants to chat too much and wont let you eat fast enough!
On our last night in Cairns we found the Mykonos Caffeteria. We had already had a not very nice meal at the Night Markets, so decided to stop for a coffee. What a treat that was. The young man who served us was so pleasant and the coffee so good & very cheap too. What a great way to end a very pleasant trip.
Service: the waitress was new but very friendly. She brought the specials board to our table hahahaha! Anyway after a joke and laugh we ordered 2 lamb shanks with mashed potato and veges. It came in reasonable time .... my first thought was that they were a bit stingy on the mashed potato. The meat was tender and the sauce delicious. Whilst there was enough on the plate for me, my husband could have done with some more meat. We were nearly finishing our meal when we realised we hadn't been given any vegetables. We asked the chef for them and he said the potatoes were the veges. I pointed out that his special board said mash AND veges. So we got our veges and they were delicious. As we were near the end of our meal the waitress changed from the Greek lady to an Indian girl who seemed intent on taking things off our table before we had finished. I stopped her but she was too quick with the remaining bread which I was going to use to soak up the sauce with.... she offered us dessert but we felt we were being rushed so we declined. The meal was $45 for the both of us. Probably a bit over priced given the portion size but it was tasty. Would I go back... unlikely.
We tried Mykonos on Friday night and were left disappointed when you compare it to George's previous restaurant. We made a booking for an outside table but when we arrived there were only inside tables free. The food was OK but the serves were small and the service was average. We ordered the trio of dips between 4 people and while there was plenty of dips, there was a tiny amount of bread to go with them. Before we had even finished the first serving of bread we were offered to 'order' more bread, obviously they know the serve is far too small and it's a may of getting you to spend more. The haloumi was under cooked and the moussaka was very oily and more of a bolognese.Overall, we were disappointed and wont be rushing back.
