Starbelly OPEN KITCHEN + LOUNGE - Calgary

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very inviting and cozy. However, I would not recommend the steak as it was overcooked and the shell was burned when I asked for it to be medium rare. The other dishes we tried were decent, with the pork belly starter being particularly interesting. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu.

The service and staff at this restaurant are outstanding. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food is well portioned and served hot and tasty. The pork belly, while nicely plated and beautifully presented, was a bit skimpy. Overall, we would definitely dine here again.

Nice neighborhood place but if your not in the area it is quite far. It is large open and spacious. Great for family gatherings and celebrations. The food was delicious and well portioned. The service was fantastic, they were prompt, courteous and efficient.

My daughter, K, and I have been to Starbelly several times now. We have always enjoyed it. The food has been amazing. We tend to share a hand held and get some truffle fries or other appy. This last time we ordered a fried chicken sandwich, truffle fries and coconut prawns. The coconut prawns were very tasty! They came with a mango pineapple salsa. Tasty! The truffle fries were excellent right down to the crumblies at the bottom of the dish. And the fried chicken sandwich was really crunchy but juicy! I really enjoyed this sandwich and next time maybe we won't share. LOL. The service is amazing here. While we had one main server, we were given water etc. by several of the servers. Seems like a real team effort here. I gave four stars because it is quite pricey! And it is so far away! I would have given it 4.5 but you can't. We will be back when we are in the area again.

Starbelly deserves five stars! We were in a bit of a rush to get to a movie, but we still had a delicious meal! The mushroom risotto was al dente, with a bold mushroom flavour. We actually came back after the movie, and I enjoyed an Old Fashioned while we shared the pork belly appetizer. In both cases, the service was great.
