"My company has an annual contract in the Soo and I happened across this place a few years ago. I've been going regularly whenever up there since. Coming from Britain I've been somewhat spoiled for Indian food and wasn't expecting much from this restaurant in a Northern Ontario predominantly blue collar city. I couldn't believe it though. This is as close to Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food in the style I'm used to that I've come across in eastern Canada. Over the years I've had the curry, karahi and jalfrezi and colleagues have had the madras and vindaloo. All have been perfectly balanced with the right amount of ingredients, flavour, spice and heat. Delicious food. Service has improved considerably over time as well. I do have a couple of criticisms, hence the 4/5 rating. The naan is not especially great, more like a roti, and the rice can be occasionally a bit stodgy. The restaurant interior could do with a makeover too. Overall though, highly recommended. Here's a chance for Canadians to try some Indian food beyond the go-to butter chicken!"

"Stopped in Sault Ste Marie and tried Arturo's on advise from friends. The restaurant is quaint and atmosphere is warm. The servers and amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The food was served and presented in style. The flavor is indescribable. Certainly best in northern...Ontario. We had rack of lamb that was cooked with perfection and tasted of European Gourmet flavor. My wife had home made style ravioli stuffed with lobster presented in mouth watering rose sauce that cause you to savour ever bite. Our starter was Escargot in a unique white wine sauce that reminded us of German Snekensoup but with a tinge of lemon to tantalize the taste buds... We couldn't think of anything we would like better then a repeat performance.. So we went back the following night for a second serving of culinary delights! Sea food special of seared snapper bathed in a touch of heavenly white cream. With a switch of the side to awesomely created gnocchi from an Italian kitchen straight from Tuscany! We had a few words with the chef but could not come close to the words of gratitude we felt for a meal from a Michelin Star Restaurant. Rick and Brenda"

"We went there thinking it would be a quick dinner but it went all wrong. The food took over an hour to get to us in a restaurant with only 4 other guests. One guy ordered pickerel but got white fish which was cooked strangely with no coatings or anything, tasted very frozen. Another guy had the fillet which was very raw in the middle. One of us got the angus steak which was over cooked and way too thin. One of us tried the Italian egg roll which made us laugh out loud because it was the size of a real football. He said it had spongy cheese and doughy undercooked wet crust. The one guy had Salsberry steak with chicken gravy that tasted sour. The fries were ok. I think the owner of this place should just do pizza and breakfast. They are not doing themselves a favor by trying to be a steakhouse."
