Our reservation was for 6:30, but when I arrived a little early, I found out it was actually for 6:00 and had been canceled. The hosts were rude when I explained the issue to them, telling me to come back when everyone in our party was there. When we all arrived, we still had trouble being seated as the host insisted we come back when everyone was present. Eventually, we were seated, but it took 15 minutes before our server came over. She was quick to leave our table of ten when we were trying to order drinks and appetizers. The chef did an okay job, but everyone's steak was overcooked because he didn't ask for our preferred cooking temperatures. There was too much salt and sauce on everything for my liking, although that is just personal preference. Overall, not a great experience.
I don 't trust this restaurant and will not return ever. This was OK food as far as this type steakhouse is concerned nothing great or out of the ordinary except the chef GiGi who was wonderful. However, Kumo offers a 10% discount for Checking In on Yelp (probably so they know you are a Yelper), but they REFUSED to honor the 10% discount coupon attached to this review. Even though the address is Cape Coral, they insisted the coupon was for the Ft. Myers location. I don 't need the 10%, but abhor dishonest business dealings.
Service was horrible, we went with a group of 11 for a birthday and from the start 3 of us sat at the bar and it was Horrible service. When we were taken to our seats they didn 't have enough places set, and we placed on our drink order but never received it. So I went to the bar and placed a drink order for our whole group. The bartender was very upset about the lack of the servers coming back to get the orders they place, to include ours which was by then totally watered down. So she remade ours plus the rest of the drinks and received a lucrative tip. Food lacked flavor and our chef really lacked any ability of showmanship while the other chefs in the restaurant were at least doing something to entertain their customers. We will NEVER go there again.
What a great hibachi spot near the middle of Cape. The restaurant was busy but got us seated quickly. Our chef was fun (and funny) and put on a great show! The food was tasty and cooked absolutely perfectly and the prices were reasonable, especially for hibachi (and in Florida). We had a great time, and will DEFINITELY be back!
The business information on the door indicates that the doors open at 11 Am. We arrived a little after eleven. People were waiting for the doors to be opened. After we entered the restaurant. We were told t we would have to wait a few minutes. I noted that they were cleaning the floor, usually that's done after closing the night before or well before the doors open. It was after 11: 30 before got were shown to a table. It was almost 12 AM before a waiter showed up to to take our drink orders. We waited another 15 minutes for him to take our food orders. The food showed up about 20 minutes later. I have been to the restaurant many times before. The quality of food was not what I was used at this restaurant. Ex. The salad was plain lettuce, the cherry tomato was missing, there was a half slice of cucumber. The goza was cold , the sushi fell apart, The appearance of the restaurant has not changed or the years its still a nice appearing place.
