The only downside is that you need to pre-book your table as they are only open on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I think it's a great concept to give trainees the opportunity to practice and improve their skills.
Please note that the Tea Rooms are reopening for the first time since lockdown, however, they will only be serving pre-made food and will be open on Mondays and Fridays only. Reservations must be made on their website as walk-ins are not accepted. It is possible that the menu and opening days may change as the new staff get settled. The staff members are mostly young, so please be patient and understanding if you visit. They are doing their best to provide a good experience.
This charming cafe is perfect for the whole family, with a fantastic ethos and a worthy cause to support through your patronage. Learn more about the history of Hadleigh Farm and William Booth.
The Hub Cafe at Hadleigh Park is run by the Salvation Army and can get really popular. It serves rolls, sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls , chips as well as specials and all are delicious. There are a variety of hot and cold drinks and they are superb, the lattes are highly recommended. The staff here are very friendly too and the location, where you can eat inside or out, overlooks the Thames Estuary with breathtaking views. There is also a play area for youngsters and of course, the mountain biking track. Really lovely place and great to have it on my doorstep.
Visited here, with friends, for a mid week lunch. Was a bit disappointed that there was no jacket potatoes but was delighted that my second choice....a tuna and cheese panini...was delicious. It was huge with a lot of filling and served with a side salad. Had a slice of victoria sandwich and coffee for dessert and, whilst the coffee was a little on the cold side, the homemade cake was lovely. I would recommend this place and would definitely return myself. You should be aware, however, that there is a charge of £1 an hour for parking.
