Uber driver told me to check out the super cool rooftop bar at the Dewberry Hotel. I was with my 9 year old son, and upon our arrival, was told it was 21+...we were just hoping to get a cold lemonade and check out the supposedly amazing view of the city. It was only 1:00pm so I figured it wouldn 't have been 21+ yet, but I was wrong. We ended up getting a lemonade in the downstairs bar area called The Living Room which was cute and cozy. Hotel seemed nice and it was walkable to the Charleston Museum, Marion Square, and the Aquarium.
I was met with excellent service the moment I arrived at the Dewberry. The staff repeatedly went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend the Dewberry for your next stay. The bed was comfortable and the amenities are great. I highly recommend the Dewberry for your next stay.
Great location, fantastic, friendly and helpful staff and sleek, modern rooms We stayed (as a couple) in July 2023. We had a Corner King room (423) The Dewberry is in a converted, JFK era Federal building repurposed as a boutique like hotel. Beautiful lobby with comfortable chairs and tables to have a meal or a drink at The Living Room lobby bar and eatery. (We had breakfast which was very tasty). Easy walk to shops on King Street as well as to south of Broad for carriage rides or walking tours etc Check in was seamless and the refreshing beverages were appreciated! Our room, while not overly large (but enough room for two) was very well appointed. Comfy King bed, mini bar (not included), dresser, etc, robes and slippers located in the bottom of the bureau...FYI there are additional outlets for phones etc located in the nightstands in the shelf above the bottom drawer didn 't figure this out until our last night LOL. Otherwise, use a USB connection in the clock to charge phones. The real gem of the room is the bathroom all marble with a large double sink vanity, HUGE shower stall with rain shower type shower head and a separate toilet area with door. Towels were soft and all was very clean. Very luxurious. One tip our room faced east so make sure to close those blinds tightly as well as close the sliding barn door to the bathroom as the window in there has a opaque shade but not a curtain and the sun comes blasting through and will wake you if light bothers you when you sleep. The Dewberry has a great rooftop bar called the Citrus Club spectacular view of Charleston and the all the surrounding waterways/bridges. Great drinks and food (there is an inside section in case of inclement weather). The Dewberry offers free one way rides to close by locations on a first come, first served basis. (they can pick you up as well but there is a fee) BIG SHOUT OUT to Tony he was indispensable when giving advice for various restaurants, making beach arrangements for Isle of Palms and just being a really helpful, friendly guy. The staff were all very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay while you 're there. All in all one of the best hotel experiences we have had!
What a fantastic all around stay! Well appointed rooms with beautiful furnishings, a gorgeous hotel interior, great food and beverage program, and a staff that is top notch. Every team member from valet and bellhops to concierge and front desk team went out of their way to insure our stay was everything it could be. One of our top 5 hotel stays ever!
