We arrived at 6:30 and was told they start closing the kitchen at 7 on Sunday night. The food was excellent as always but we were not offered any dessert or coffee because they wanted us to leave. Anyway, other than that it was a nice experience and since we were the only people in there is was very quiet. We had tried to get in there about 3 weeks ago and it was packed and I hadn't made a reservation. So I would check and see if there's a football game, concert or other sporting event that might extend their hours.
Thr Asbury used to be one of my favorite brunch restaurants; however, the quality of the food has severely declined. We started with the banana bread app. It had so much chocolate on it that it really should have been a dessert. It was entirely too sweet and the bread had no taste. The coffee tasted like it had been sitting in a burned pot for hours. They've removed the signature chicken, collard green, waffles and replaced it with a mediocre hot honey chicken waffles dish. The brine for the chicken leaves a weird pickley, tangy aftertaste that would not go away and overpowered the whole dish so badly it was inedible. My husband ordered the burger, which he said had no seasoning at all. We ordered a **** Mary in hopes that it would redeem the meal, but there was almost no vodka in it, no garnish, and the tomatoe juice was watery. It was such. A disappointment!! Won't be back.
Everything was delicious and delightful! I enjoyed the entire experience.
Was not happy when we arrived to find that Sunday nights have a limited menu (5 items to choose). Service extremely slow. I understand that service industry facing workforce challenges but if that’s the case, please don’t have reservations available. Also just wasn’t vibe presented in photos.
The banana walnut bread is big enough to share between three people and still have leftovers.
