O had some high hopes for this place because I lived in Guadalajara a long time. To hear the name of the restaurant I was hoping to see on the menu tortas ahogadas or quesabirrias but then it?s just the name but it?s a Mexican restaurant. I wanna say the flautas de res had no salt no flavor and the meat was dry. One of the friends had the quesadilla of chicken and was super salty. Another had carne asad and it was dry and no kind of flavor. Only thing good was a burrito.
Had such high hopes as the location is a trendy hip neighborhood and the building is a quaint old house. The hostess and the waitress were unfriendly as if we were bothering them. The food was mediocre with dry chicken and not fresh. The ?jumbo? margarita was medium sized, watery and weak. I asked for salt but no salt. I didn?t bother to send it back. 100% disappointed and guaranteed not to return. I don?t recommend.
High prices for small portions. Spent $30 total on a pickup order for arroz con pollo, the lunch special that comes with a cheese enchilada and sides of rice and beans, and 2 canned drinks. Was happy we got free chips and salsa. My boyfriend and I were so disappointed when we opened our meals when we got home. You can see in the pictures (which are before eating any of either of them), the portions are just so tiny. I'm a small woman, doesn't take much for me to feel
Excellent restaurant with a long history in Charlottesville. Good food at decent prices, and really fast service. I've been going to this and its other locations for a very long time and have rarely been anything less than pleased.
