My partner had the chicken ruck and I had the crabcakes, both delicious but overall just average. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!
Breakfast and dinner were great. Sadie, our server for our stay was 'up and beyond' in kindness and efficiency. The food was excellent and the bar was a great meeting place.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful area with an interesting old hotel set on lovely grounds. However, when four of us dined there, we found the portions to be very small and the food to be average. Although the restaurant has great potential, we left feeling disappointed.
The restaurant has a fantastic terrace overlooking Brackley Marsh with beautiful trees providing shade and a gentle breeze, making it the perfect spot for a summer meal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the service was good, and the strawberry shortcake was incredible. Do not miss out on this historic hotel restaurant!
On the grounds of the Shaw Hotel Cottages we stumbled on the restaurant by accident. Quiet, pastoral location and the restaurant was far from full. Attentive, restrained service and I had my first taste of Don David wine, an Argentinian Malbec, that I will...sample again. I had the mussels and they were delicious- best I have tried in a long time. Note This was a dinner special and sadly, doesn’t seem to be on the regular menu. My partner had the house burger with double smoked bacon. We were both more than pleased. Prices a bit to the steep side, but no complaints about anything.
