The Water Prince Corner Shop is an interesting anomaly in Charlottetown. We saw the crowds and made reservations for the next night. Even with the reservation, we still had to wait a half hour to get our table due to just how many people were coming and going. The food was alright. Actually the chowder is exceptional -- it's very creamy and rich and is really really good. But the rest of our meal was lackluster and just so-so. My oysters were ok, but nothing that special as was the rest of the meal. The prices also seemed a little high. Service was very friendly, especially considering how busy they were and I can't fault the restaurant on that. There's several good restaurants in Charlottetown and while I wouldn't say I disliked Water Prince, I'd suggest going and getting chowder for lunch and skipping their dinner service.
Came here for dinner and we both ordered lobster dishes. I had the one with mussels and scallops and omg the scallops were amazing. Great portions and fair prices. Service was also very good. Arrived at 9pm and waited about 30 minutes for a table.
We were happy to share a table outside in the shade with another family. The service was good, seafood very fresh and not too pricy, and overall a great experience for mid-priced un-fancy eating.
It is casual and excellent if you have an appreciation of outstanding g seafood! Fro The outside you might wonder whether it is a corner store. leave that outside and step into a bustling and excellent restaurant. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!
