Fast and friendly service. All of the tables were clean and tidy. Good quality coffee and cakes, and a good range of lunch items available.
I hadn't visited this branch for a long while, given the lockdown and other factors, and I was a bit concerned that, given that this one is quite a small shop, wondered how they would cope with the distancing etc. However, I need not have worried as this branch has a spacious upstairs seating area, where there is plenty of room to enjoy a drink. The actual cappuccino I had was very good(as usual for Costa)and I was quite happy in the upstairs area. It is good that they've reopened and I think they've done a good job given the difficult times recently.
I 've been going to this Costa regularly for several years. I am a loyal Costa customer and often choose them over all the competitors. The best things about it are the polite, hard working staff as and the good location. However, the standards have really dropped over the past year. For about 10 months I 've noticed the soap dispensers in the men 's toilets are broken. For the past 3-4 months there has been no soap or hot water running in the toilet. I find this really disgusting especially at this time where we are all worried about Coronavirus. The tables are often untidy and unclear. Another annoyance is that at about 3pm most days the staff close upstairs for cleaning even though they don 't close the shop until 530pm.its obvious its because they all want to leave to go home at 530 on the dot. The reason this is so much of a nuisance is that they only have a few tables downstairs so you often left with no seats and are left with no option but to leave and go to a competitor. I 've seen so many potential customers after 330pm walk out when they see no seats available. It really feels like the store is now taking custom for granted. There 's a lot of competition in town now and I am reluctantly tempted to start going elsewhere. I am sure I 'm not the only one!
Always love going to costa! The hazelnut and caramel cake was amazing and the coconut and vanilla late worth a try!! High quality food and drinks never disappointing. Polite, kind and friendly staff. Thank you :D
