Drink orders taken and duly delivered, even to the extent of non alcoholic gin which is a bonus for my wife. Food orders taken and presented after short period of time. It was mid week so sadly not a lot of people dining. The steak pie is just has good as my last visit and I was told that the cottage pie and veg extremely tasty. All meals hot and presented nicely. Prices realistic. Sweets to were also enjoyable. I would recommend to visit but just out of town which will deter some.
Have not visited this pub for several years, but on a recomendation thought we would give it a try. My wife had chicken fajitas and i had the soup with bread roll followed by the salmon. We were very pleased with the presentation and the quality of the food and thought it was remarkable value, the staff were very pleasant and attentive we will visit again and i think we will use the establisment on a regular basis
Dropped into The Farmers Arms without a booking, luckily they could accommodate the 4 of us for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed, plenty of food on our plates pleasant service too. Good puddings aswell.
On a short break in the area and walked to this local for a Sunday lunch. Having book the evening before specifically for Sunday lunch was a little disappointed to be told on arrival there was only turkey left. After a short while I went to the bar to order to be informed all the turkey had gone! In the end we plumped for other mains which were very nice but not what we set our hearts on. Then when we were eating our desserts we were somewhat annoyed to see 3 turkey lunch’s being served to some people who had arrived 20 30mins after we ordered
Visited for the first time in a while on a school night. I had the steak pie with mash and veg, my partner had fish and chips. Fish and chips was freshly cooked and a large portion. Very nice and above average. The pie came with buttery mash and seasonal veg. It was packed with about a pound of beautifully cooked steak with a rich gravy. I was very impressed so decided to see if the same standard would be there on another visit. It was. Again a huge slice of delicious steak pie. Possibly the nicest I've had. My partner this time had a curry which again was a large portion. Very tasty indeed. Next time I'm going to try a roast dinner if I can look beyond that pie..
