Lovely appointed restaurant. Home made fresh food. Local produce. It felt like a special occasion The restaurant is part of the Longview hotel where Martin Bell use to stay when he met Christine Neil Hamilton on Kntsford heath.
I had a fantastic evening dining at this restaurant. The new chef was very enthusiastic and the owners were incredibly friendly and lovely. I highly recommend paying them a visit.
A previous review said a hidden gem . Hidden yes, gem no. This is presented as a Mediterranean restaurant, the writing on the window says so. Bottles of olive oil and balsamic scattered around the place. However, is steak pie and chips Italian? Haddock and chips? 8oz sirloin steak with chips? You are spotting a pattern. This is British food and a British menu in a schizophrenic restaurant. The place was empty (one other table occupied) at 8pm on a Saturday. They played the same 70s song four times on repeat before I asked them to switch it... I got a look of disgust from the waitress for my effort. The haddock I chose was delivered as cod with no apology or explanation. The waitress dropped water over our table and did not apologise. The butterscotch/pink tablecloths and bent cutlery only added to my experience. Stay well clear.
We recently dined at this restaurant with a large group and were very impressed with the excellent service. The staff was friendly and polite, and went above and beyond to accommodate us. All of our main courses were served simultaneously and were delicious. The desserts were also outstanding and quite satisfying.
