Other than being just a tad loud, I would highly recommend. Also: wine recommendation to pair with the gnocchi was *chef’s kiss*
A hidden gem. It's a cozy, intimate room that's quiet enough that you can easily converse with your friends. The food is always excellent, the service professional. The wine list is not big, but has lots of interesting options. We come here frequently and are never disappointed.
A Tavola is truly a special restaurant. The staff is kind and welcoming. The food is delicious and simple. It is obvious that care is put into every aspect of the restaurant. The setting is unique and personable. I had the grilled portobello and oyster mushrooms, cacio e pepe, and the gnocchi. All were fantastic but the mushrooms were the standout dish of the night. I have never tasted a mushroom with so much complexity and flavor. Everything about A Tavola is perfection. Highly recommend.
I 've been 5 times and ALWAYS enjoyed myself, the food, the company, and the atmosphere. However, on the visit 12/21/2023 I visited for an anniversary dinner. This was the absolute worst experience ever. Service The server was extremely slow on a non busy Thursday evening. water took 15 to 20 minutes and bread service came around 30 minutes after we sat. Food The Lamb pasta was heavenly as always however when the half chicken dish came out it was so dry it was a brick! To add insult to injury we ordered a half chicken and received a half cut chicken breast and the smallest wing ever. The server goes to the kitchen after we tell him we do not want the item he goes to the kitchen and brings out the whole chicken that they cut it off from. WHO AUTHORIZED THIS?? He states normally there are more pieces but we only received half of a breast and a wing. remind you I have eaten this same dish the last 3 times I came here. Normally, I would stop here however I am extremely disappointed in what happens next. The manager on duty comes out and talks for 10 minutes about how they use the chicken from the day before that they would normally just serve to staff. EXCUSE ME WHAT? and the server said Yes this is yesterday 's chicken This did not sit well with me to the point my face changed and the manager then changed the comment to he just showed you what it would normally be cut from . however, that 's not what either of them said. I just want a full refund at this point. This broke my heart because I truly loved this place and had so many memories here.
A Tavola is in a charming house and you feel like you are eating in someone's dining room. The service is attentive and the food was decent. I was meeting two friends for a holiday dinner and they were both running late. We were able to enjoy our conversation and dinner and were never rushed. The food is good but not great. We ordered the mushrooms which were very tasty, salad, Cacio and pepe, gnocchi and spare ribs with risotto. The cacio and pepe was mushy, gnocchi with brown butter and sage were good, spare ribs with risotto were very salty. For dessert we had chocolate cake which was also good. Our waiter was phenomenal and attentive but not overbearing and let us stay for a long time to talk. The restaurant was perfect for this occasion.
