So theres so much meat in the Pad See Eiw that we had to eat it without the noodles because there was so little noodles! Not sure why they cant add more noodles since it will make a bigger portion and have a better meat to carb ratio. I recommend this place! They just have to improve portion ratio.
This was my second time having Red Pig and it is just as good as I remembered. I got the spicy thai basil and although it is fairly spicy it's so good! Great portions as well. I also tried the gyoza, however, the gyoza was nothing special.
Came before they close, but everything still tasted really fresh The pad Kee mao taste like spicy drunken noodles. I've said it before. I'll say it again they're not afraid to season their dish. I'm going to nitpick , the pad see ew was fine except that the beef taste a little stale l. No complaints with the basil chicken. The phrik king moo grob is an overdose of flavor. I can't explain it. It was spicy with strong hints of tamarind. Yeah, you definitely need the vegetables to offset the flavor and chase it with rice. Don't get me wrong I would absolutely recommend this dish. It's just not for bland taste. Pricing came out to under $60 for 4 dinner entrees. Hey in East lakeview that's a steal.
The best Thai food in Chicago. The food is absolutely delicious and prices very reasonable. It's BYOB. I hardly ever write reviews but this place calls for a shout out. We have been going there many times. Tonight we tried the veggie lover appetizer, we all agreed it was amazing. I had the Thai basil, the best. My partner had the salmon, it was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside . If you enjoy Thai food, you have to try The Red Pig, you will not be disappointed.
Oh the noodles! I'm in love with their Pad See Ew, the wide rice noodles with egg and broccoli. It's the perfect chewy texture and flavor, and the appetizers and fried rice (esp the Thai fried rice) are lovely as well. The staff are always warm and welcoming, and they get your order ready fast, which is great when you're starving, lol.
