Contribuer aux commentairesReasonably priced with even better food. We had to modify our order because some items were unavailable, but that's a common challenge these days. The ambiance and lighting were fantastic. The food presentation was excellent. I can't wait to visit again!
One of the best sushi places I?ve been to. There are a lot of good places in Chico but this one was nicer and also economical. The server was really nice to us. We were 3 members and went there for brunch. We mostly liked Crunchy roll Italian. Japanese taco was a new concept. Tacos were made of thin sliced eggplant, battered fried. Overall had a good time and would suggest to go before 7 if for dinner as this place closes at 8 and it?s pretty busy at evening.
Japanese tacos are an absolutely brilliant idea! The rolls are fantastic as well. I can't imagine going to Chico without stopping here every time.
I've experienced sushi in small towns where the fish tasted off, suggesting it had been stored for too long. However, despite Chico being a college town, the quality at Big Tuna remains outstanding, which is a testament to their chef. I often found myself sitting in a cozy corner at the sushi bar, enjoying the culinary team at work. The restaurant is usually bustling, but the chef and their team are highly trained and adept at managing the dinner rush. Each dish was beautifully presented and as appealing as the last. Despite the busy atmosphere, the chef took time to share insights about the fish and the menu items with me. Needless to say, the food was exquisite. I typically opted for the sushi or sashimi sampler, which gave me a taste akin to an omakase experience, aside from their Omakase Roll. Each visit delivered delightful offerings without fail. On other occasions, I tried a variety of dishes, including the Salmon Bomber roll, the Chico roll, the Italian roll, vegetable tempura, and Shishito peppers—items I frequently ordered. I felt like I was enjoying the same high-quality meals that I could find at places like Uchi, Uchiko, Sugar Fish, and Nobu, all right here in the college town of Chico, CA. Whatever special touch this restaurant has created, I sincerely hope it continues to thrive so I can return for another unforgettable culinary journey.
The new remodel is really nice. The service is excellent and friendly, great energy! Just wish they would add some new rolls to the menu. Must try the Shiso Hot (under appetisers), crab and tuna tacos with egg plant shell (under appetisers) coconut shrimp roll and Lion King roll were my favorite.
