Contribuer aux commentairesMy husband and i stopped in here 8/1 and received the most horrible service. We didn 't even stay and eat. My husband walked in and waited for 5 mins to be seated. While the hostess was kind and bubbly to everyone else, she was very short and brisk with my husband. We sat down and weren 't even given any service or greeted by any staff for 7 mins! While everyone else was receiving service and carry out was also getting service. It wasn 't busy, maybe 5 tables in the entire restaurant. When i approached a female server about receiving service she said 'I 'll send someone over there soon '. Then she proceeded to yell in Chinese about us as patrons... my husband is Chinese and i think they assumed he didn 't speak Chinese , but he does, what they had to say about us in Chinese wasn 't kind. When the waitress finally did come over, she walked up and said 'what do you want? ' And when my husband mentioned he didn 't appreciate her tone and walking up and stating 'what do you want ' is rude... the waitress stated she didn 't say that, she asked 'how are we doing ' ... SHE BLATANTLY LIED AND CALLED US LIARSMy husband and i have frequented this restaurant for years. Often we use their carry out because we have a small child. This was the first evening in 5 months we had a chance to have a date and we chose to come to Green Papaya, only to be spoken about derogatorily in Chinese and then to be gas lighted and lied to, never once receiving even water at our table after being the only table sat in a 20 min period. Not only was I shocked about how we were treated and spoken about, but i was so disappointed to know i can never visit this establishment again. And i hope that the reason we were treated that way isn 't steeped in racist beliefs.
Both times I’ve been here the food has been really bland. I ordered the Ladna noodles with chicken and had maybe two noodles in my whole dish and it was just so watery, unseasoned and bland. I had the crispy pad thai last time and that was a little better.Food: 3/5
It 's a high A Okay for me. I 'm hoping I 'll be able to upgrade my review in the future as they do have some very tasty food but my experience is their consistency can be off and some dishes I did not care for including over cooked or soggy veggies.First experience, my husband and I were craving sushi for dinner and heard great things about this place, so let 's give it a try! We placed an order for pick up with shu-mai (8 pieces of steamed shrimp dumplings) and sushi: a salmon and avocado roll, tuna and avocado roll, and a Rainbow specialty roll. Shu-mai was really tasty but preferred a soy-based sauce over their house specialty sauce that tasted too much like mayo. Sushi was pretty good, nice and fresh with good texture on the fish and bright avocado. Happy to find our sushi spot.Second experience, another to go order. Having sushi before had us curious to try more of the menu. We ordered Teriyaki Chicken and Basil Country Style (diced chicken) with an order of Vegetable Dumplings. I was not a fan of my teriyaki chicken. Chicken was dry and the sauce was tasty but the consistency was like water. Menu says it comes with fresh crispy steamed vegetables The veggies I got were either soggy or too hard. Could not tell if some were undercooked potatoes or sweet potatoes, really could not tell and was not happy with my order. My husband enjoyed his Basil Country Style chicken. Did not care for the Vegetable Dumplings, a bit mushy for our liking.Third experience and after, we got that Thai flavor craving again and put in another pick up order for some Pad Thai with Chicken and Basil Country Style Chicken and Siam rolls (egg rolls). Husband again was happy with his basil chicken and I liked my chicken Pad Thai better than my Teriyaki experience but again chicken was over cooked and noodles were on the dry side. Liking the flavors, I ordered the chicken Pad Thai two more subsequent times during our order out nights and the third time it was excellent! Chicken was cooked perfectly with so much flavor and the noodles were not dry and had that perfect wet kind of stickiness you get with that Thai sauce. Siam rolls were some of the best egg rolls I have had. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fresh, not mushy inside. I have also experienced the Ginger sauce with chicken and liked it minus the soggy slimy mushrooms I picked out. If you love ginger like I do, you 'll like this dish. Also we have tried the Crazy Fried Rice with pork and it was okay, prefer the Basil Country Style Chicken.Heat scale is no joke! I like heat and spice and 3 was almost too much so we 've stuck with a 2 going forward.I can 't say much about the service as we have always ordered for pick up. We like our order out nights and movies! I can say the timing is always right on and food is never cold. Husband says they are always nice when he picks up the food. We look forward to dining in sometime.
This is our first meal here because we are new to the city and neighborhood! We ordered our favorite chicken satte and green curry! It was good and we plan to return. The restaurant has ample space and tables; it’s quiet inspire of many customers.! The prices are reasonable. We highly recommend this placeParking: Parking is limited. We had no problem: parked right in front of the restaurant; lucky I guess.
The chicken fried rice had some unusual ingredients in it, e.g. tomatoes and miniature corn cobs. Overall, it had a bitter taste and the server had an unpleasant attitude. I've ordered this dish from here several times but this time, I got severe heartburn and painful stomach cramps all night. I won't be returning!Food: 2/5
