Ocean King - City of Knox

Had a quick seafood lunch. Abalone and clams both reasonable good. Portion decent, service a bit confusing as the waiters were apparently new or something. A bit pricey. But overall we enjoyed the food

Went to Ocean King 2 years ago and it was good. I went back to this place last week and it has been a disaster. There were shards of sharp pvc from takeaway containers in my braised pork! We told the manager about this, and he said: “Aiyah, the pork comes in pvc containers and this happens, there’s no way of stopping this!” Really, I just almost ingested very sharp shards of pvc which could have affected me for life or even injured my internals really badly, and all you can say is, sorry we can’t help it its too hard to prevent this? So basically you’re saying you can’t guarantee that wont happen again, and you wont make any effort to prevent this from happening? I insisted he speak with the kitchen staff about this and I overhead their conversation there were lots of swear words from the kitchen staff. Not good attitude at all. No change expected. In fact, I had been hearing the kitchen staff swearing and using really really foul words and shouting profanity from the time I sat down a sign of their attitude toward my food. On my way out, the manager offered to not charge me for that dish but I insisted to pay. I asked if he could please make sure this doesn’t happen again .He said too hard to prevent this in other words, he was basically indirectly saying if I came back again next week, he can’t guarantee my safety and that he won’t even bother making an effort to prevent this from happening again. If you value your safety, don’t go to Ocean King. Also I’m not sure you want people shouting profanity and swearing so badly to handle your food. Personally I don’t trust this type of people to come anywhere near my food and the shards of sharp plastic and the attitude is testimony to this. Don’t go there if you care for your health.

We’ve been getting takeaway from here for a few months now. It compares favorably to other Chinese takeaway in the area that we’ve had. Right now and during Covid restrictions there are $10 dishes to be had! Call and check what is available on a given day. I have at least 3 favorites from these offers. Recommended/support!

My wife and I went for lunch and were very disappointed. The customer service was bad and it felt like they didnt want us in the resteraunt. The food was horrible too. The spring rolls were battered and contained very little of anything except batter. The combination noodle tasted like corn flour and deep fried noodles with no other flavour . The sweet and sour was all sweet. Full of MSG. Over all a very bad experience, do not eat here.

We had a Chinese banquet for two .the food was plentiful tasty well presented. The Waite staff were attentive and service was prompt . The atmosphere was busy ,it was a Saturday night with lots of families and groups of friends dining. We will visit again when be are in the area again .We have enjoyed our meal thankyou.
