They have introduced a new and unique version of traditional afternoon tea that is based on their Como Shambala healthy principles. It was a delightful experience that my companion and I thoroughly enjoyed. This tea was not your typical assortment of sandwiches, scones, and cream cakes – it was a refreshing and original take on afternoon tea with a variety of Far Eastern flavors. It's difficult to put into words just how different and enjoyable it was. Although we didn't take any photos, I have no doubt that the Como group will share some soon so everyone can see how special it is. Be sure to book in advance to experience this incredible tea for yourself. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy! (And no, I'm not affiliated with Como!) - Philip Daubeny
The food at this restaurant is fantastic and the staff is top-notch. Three of us enjoyed afternoon tea, with each course customized to accommodate our dietary restrictions - including vegetarian, pescatarian, and lactose-free options. The dishes were beautifully presented, as shown in the photos. The staff were attentive and explained each dish to us, and they tasted just as delicious as they looked.
I regularly book afternoon tea and this was the worst I’ve ever had, from the terrible food, to the awful ambience. Tea is served in the bar area with adjoins reception and is enroute to the bathroom. The whole time we had people walking backwards and forwards past our table to the bathroom and a stream of loud conversations from guests checking in, or sitting in the bar next to us, waiting for their room to be available. The cost of the tea with a glass of cava was £50. The food was appalling. Six tasteless canapés and a shot of lukewarm sweet corn soup. This was followed by six mini deserts, again tasteless, with a strong resemblance in appearance to the Iceland mini deserts you see on Christmas adverts, which we left most of and left us starving. I’m sure Spain would be shocked at how poorly this hotel has managed to cook their cuisine. The only good quality parts were the cava and Jing (excellent brand) tea. The staff were polite and courteous, but this is the lobby bar and so they do not have time to pour you tea etc. Upon complaining I was given a glass of cava. If you want to book afternoon tea in this area, book The Goring which is excellent.
