We didn't have sushi because my wife didn't want to eat raw food so we ate off the menu and she was pretty happy with the fare it was her first Japanese. A reasonable bottle of Sancerre not too expensive rounded off a pleasant evening. It was not very busy for a Friday night so lacked a bit of atmosphere.
Where do I start? First of all we got a groupon voucher for this all you can eat sushi. I come up to the restaurant and show the voucher on my phone. They say “we need it printed, you can print at the hotel reception”. So off I go to get it printed while my wife sits down. Reception are useless and I am 15 minutes trying to print this voucher off! So get into the restaurant after they finally accept the voucher. And they only have two different type of sushi going around the conveyor belt! We asked about more types of sushi and they shrugged their shoulders. We lasted 15 minutes and then left. Trying to get my money back from this shocker of a sushi restaurant! If I could give zero stars I would!
We visited the restaurant today in 5* Grange City Hotel near Tower of London. Our impression was very good, the waitress was very kind, friendly and polite (from Hungary-Romania and the hungarian chef Adam was amazing, friendly and direct. He did everything to make for our overall satisfaction. Köszönjük az extrát Ádám! ; We used the Groupon voucher, but we were really satisfied, we didn`t feel different (bad service.
We went at 5pm because we bought a groupon and you're only allowed to attend after that hour. Of course the sushi wasn't fresh at all. Some of them were even soggy. But the worst thing and the reason why I'm writing this review is because there was a fly inside the tuna sushi. A huge fly inside flying under the lit. This has been with no doubt the worst sushi experience in my life. So sad because even when it was a groupon, it costs us 30 pounds.
Tried the Grange Sushi deal after seeing it on Groupon. Seemed good value and for the amount of the sushi we ate it was a good deal had it all been fresh. Some had been on the belt a while I would guess maybe from lunch? Other pieces were made in front of us and were very good. For such a prominent location and busy hotel (which was absolutely packed in the foyer) the restaurant was empty. Only two other tables occupied in the whole time we were there. This is a little strange considering how busy the area is with tourists and workers. All in all an okay sushi dinner. Had better and glad didn't pay the full price. On a plus side... Service was excellent and friendly.
