We had a saag aloo and a couple of tandoori rotis. Was all really fresh and tasty. Would definitely revisit if in the area. Must mention that they also had a typical fast food menu too, alongside the traditional Asian one. A great find.
The place is not located too far from the Mezquita. There is seating available both inside and outside. We ordered the daal with two chapattis. It was a welcome find in Córdoba, the food was lovely. Wifi is available too.
After a long coach journey in Spanish heat, my family wanted a nice meal to end the day. We were initially going to go to a restaurant close to our hotel, but after discovering that it was opening late, we searched for another Pakistani/Indian restaurant and came across Laorkebab. The reviews on TripAdvisor were mostly very positive, so we walked 25 minutes to reach the restaurant. This was a long and tiring walk given the high temperature, and we were soon to learn that it was not worth it. The exterior of the restaurant was not impressive as it did not look well looked-after and the area was not really great, but we decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt, hoping that the dishes would make up for its off-putting surroundings. The server was very polite and complimented his own dishes, promising us home-made Pakistani food. We were seated outside because the inside was unbearably hot, even more so than the heat outside. The place we were seated at wasn't exactly brilliant either, with passing traffic and people, graffiti on the walls, and many flies and pigeons. The food was anything but home-made- the meat was rubbery and stiff, and the curry had no aroma or taste. The saag (spinach) was also clearly out of a tin, and no effort had gone into even trying to make the dishes look appealing or presentable. We suspect the food had been microwaved too. Being of Pakistani heritage myself, and knowing what to expect from the dishes we ordered, we were left incredibly disappointed, hungry and in fact offended that dishes of such appalling quality were served to myself and my family. Having genuinely eaten lahori food, I can assure you that the food served at Laorkebab is anything but that. The prices would have been reasonable if the food was actually edible, which was not the case- the majority of the food we ordered was left on the plate. We basically paid approximately €40 to eat four rotis and drink four pepsis, a complete rip off. The food photographed on tripadvisor/google are misleading and do not reflect the true reality of the dishes Laorkebab serve. We felt lied to and would not recommend going to this place to anyone. If you are looking for a halal place to eat in Cordoba, you are probably better off going to Subway and getting a tuna or veggie sandwich, which we did after our shocking experience. My husband being the polite person he is, chose not to raise this with the server, as he was not the owner of the restaurant. We hope that this review reaches the owner of Laorkebab and that he makes drastic improvements.
