Great hidden place for lunch, when it's easy to grab a table. Sho and Jun acquire great fish, wish the rice was better. Great dive. Good tunes and the dartboard. Favorites... kampachi, aji, amaebi, kohada [marinated], shiro maguro, kinmedai.. taste of trevally and uni can vary time to time.
Omakase was on point both pricing and pacing. The tuna toro set was decent but some might be taken back by the slight after taste. Careful of the clam soup with the extra crunch and slightly bitter taste from the sake. Same flight made a great pairing with the sushi. Make reservations or miss out sitting inside as it tends to fill quickly and abruptly. One for the bookmark.
Shogun is the best! Period the end! My wife and daughter can eat here everyday! Best sushi around
A solid authentic Japanese restaurant serving sushi and sashimi! Sushi is well made good ratio of fish to rice, sticky vinegar rice that holds together, fresh room temperature fish. The sea eel still had some bones inside. The kanpachi sashimi had smaller and thinner cuts of fish than your usual sashimi. My favorite dish was the crispy rice with spicy tuna since it had a balance of flavors and textures. The spicy tuna on top tasted like negitoro, much fattier than regular tuna. Seared salmon and seared scallop were also spot on. The price is reasonable for the area.
