We have traveled extensively around the world, including Italy. The dining experience at Il Castello in Sweetsburg was quite good and the food was well presented. The owner came to our table and shared with us the 30-year history of the restaurant, which we enjoyed. I ordered the linguine Daniela, which was very good. My wife had the parmigiana and she was pleased with her choice. Our daughter, her partner, and our granddaughter were also satisfied with their dishes, although we were a bit surprised by the praise. The only disappointment was our server. Although we were all fluent in French, we spoke a mix of English and Spanish at the table. The server did not seem friendly towards English or Spanish speaking customers and avoided us while chatting with other patrons. Despite the owner saying she would personally take our order, she did not, choosing instead to socialize with another couple and then head back to the kitchen. This type of attitude can detract from what would otherwise be a pleasant dining experience. Overall, we were happy with our meal, but found the menu to be a bit overpriced and the service lacking.
We visited this restaurant in our last night of our holiday in East cities and it was just the perfect kapper! the food was perfection, the service beautiful, and the owner himself came by to imagine and learn about our trip. there is a good reason why they were so many years in business. they create a delicious and unforgettable moment for their mozens and we cannot wait to come back soon!
Well organized for covid and appreciated that they were opened. two of us sat outside under vines, ordered pasta and calf dishes, both very tasty, moderate portions. rather expensive for the quality and quantity. wein started at $45 a bottle with only one house wine. by the glass. service was attentive and efficient. recommended.
Il Castillo is a charming Italian restaurant that offers great service and delicious food. The cozy ambiance and friendly manager add to the experience, along with a menu that has a good variety of options. While the prices can be on the higher side, the pre-set lunch menu is a more affordable choice. The wine prices are quite steep, with glasses starting at $9.50 and bottles at $45. My lunch selection, the Tortellini Gigi, was excellent at $22, but my companions found their Veal Parmigiana to be just average at $26. Overall, the restaurant is best suited for those willing to splurge for a special occasion.
