I booked a table for 6 people as a special celebration for my 50th Birthday. The restaurant emailed me to confirm the booking the day before, which I did. When we arrived, we found it closed! Very fortunately for us Las Fuentes was open next door where we had a lovely meal and were told that Obia had been closed for a couple of months!

Booked through open table for 8 guests for 8pm and had confirmation email then the day before we arrived got an email to say the reservation has been cancelled. I phoned to ask what’s happened and a very rude girl told me that it’s been cancelled because no deposits have been made even though there had been nothing to say we had to pay a deposit? I then paid the deposit over the phone and she then told me that we had to arrive at 7:30. I said fine, but she was very rude over the phone. We then arrived and ordered drinks and some sharing boards which took an hour to come out, we ordered our mains at the same time as the starters and at 9:40pm we had enough of waiting we were all hungry and quite drunk at this point to be honest due to us just drinking with no food. We all ended up leaving and cancelling the mains. I had been here previously for mother’s day and loved it so I do not know what happened this time but I won’t be going again to be treated with rudeness, especially when it was such a big booking! The restaurant is a charming spot with delicious cuisine, but the slow service is a bit of a drawback.

The waiter forgot our starters and served us straight with our pizzas. The restaurant was very noisy, making it difficult for us to hear each other. The only beer available at 8pm was Peroni in a bottle. The pizza base was hard and overcooked, I did not enjoy it. The card machine was not working, so my husband had to go find a cash machine. We left the restaurant still hungry, even though we had two desserts. The staff did not say goodbye or thank you when we left, there was no acknowledgment at all. The girl who called to confirm my online booking was not particularly welcoming or nice. Overall, the experience was not worth the money.
