My plate was missing some items that were supposed to be included according to the menu. I mentioned it to the staff and they promptly rectified the situation. However, the same issue occurred with the table next to mine. If you're looking to have coffee and cake, it's probably fine, but I would avoid the chocolate brownie or chocolate cake. The coffee was lacking in strength and was served cold. The highlight of the experience was the new employee, who provided us with excellent service.
A few weeks ago, while dropping off my husband at Brisy airport, we stumbled upon a cafe on Leather Lane. Before we left, I decided to call and confirm their location, and was surprised to find out they were situated in the BMW Mini showroom. It sounded intriguing - I had never heard of a cafe being placed inside a car showroom. But don't let that deter you! The unique setting added to the fun experience. Our breakfast was one of the best we've had! The menu was different from the usual, with no Eggs Benedict in sight. Instead, we had options like a packed burrito, ham omelette, avocado on sourdough with balsamic drizzle, and more. I hadn't had black pudding in years, so I opted for the Leather Lane take on a full English breakfast. The black pudding and crispy speck were delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. The only downside was that my poached eggs were not runny as I had hoped. My husband went for the breakfast burrito, which was packed with ingredients and very satisfying. The coffee, however, was a bit disappointing. My cappuccino lacked strength and froth, while my husband's mocha tasted more like chocolate than coffee. Overall, I would recommend trying the breakfast at Leather Lane cafe, especially if you enjoy unique settings and delicious food.
The cafe/bar itself is quirky and just really fun to sit and eat and/or drink in.
I'm not a fan of coffee, so I let the others in my brunch group make the coffee-related decisions.
I was in Brisbane this past week and was staying near Elizabeth Street.
