What I got was an unrecognizable mess. The meat was very dry. Perhaps in an effort to mask that the taco was covered in crema, grated cheese and something that had little taste and looked like someone in the kitchen was attempting to create modern artwork with a squeeze bottle. Is there guacamole in the picture above? The tacos didn 't use to have it. Mine had an ice-cream scoop of guac that I didn 't want on each taco. In short, what used to be a simple very tasty dish is now a monstrous creation of someone who clearly believes more is more not less is more. The tacos were horrid. The hot salsa was not even up to the medium heat level you might find at a grocery. Also, beware of the unspecified upcharge. The menu is on written on a board that faces you when you walk in the door. It states a carnitas taco is $4. How does an order of two became $20? An undefined Upcharge caused by everything that 's going on now. When asked, the cashier merely mentions the upcharge because times are what they are. She pointed to the door. Taped to the door, which was open so you walk right past it without noticing the sign, there 's hand written sign saying the menu prices might be higher. Why not change the price on the menu? It 's on a chalkboard. Even after asking I never got an explanation for how a taco goes from $4 to $10. So, if you elect to eat there, beware that the menu has little to no relevance to what you 'll be charged. The food has gone WAY downhill and the pricing has become unknown before you 're rung up. Too bad.
Great, fresh tasting tacos and burritos. The tortilla chips were definitely made in house, I could eat them all day. The entrance is in the alley way you have to walk down a little bit to see the stairs down into the restaurant.
Just had the steak burrito bowl. Fast and delicious! Thanks ?
As one who craves true Mexican food even in a seafood environment, Que Rico is a hidden gem!! It will be a year until we get back to Damariscotta. I hope they will still be there. Adios!!
Stopped here last Saturday during the pumpkin festival and due to the massive crowds on Maine Street decided to try Que Rico which was also quite busy at the time. Had quesadilla and burrito. Both were excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely return when we in Damariscotta again.
