Punto del Desembarco de Rizal en Dapitan is a historical place because it is where Dr. Jose Rizal landed when he was exiled to Dapitan in the evening of July 17, 1892. Together with Captain Delgras and three artillery men, they walked through Sta. Cruz Street with a “farol de combate” or lantern going to the Casa Real. He was submitted to Don Ricardo Carnicero, a Spanish Military governor of Dapitan during that time.
It's a good place to teach and appreciate history. Sunset by the beach is also very pretty and calming. Won't hesitate to go back soon
A beautiful realization. The monument is paying a tribute to the most praised hero, José Rizal, of the Philippines who was in exile in Dapitan for four years. The inhabitants are, understandably, proud of this chapter of their history. The monument is really well place at the sea shore where José Rizal arrived. The scenery is splendid at the sunset. A must to watch in Dapitan
It's a nice place to walk at the boulevard especially in the evening with colorful lights glittering in some areas....
