We went for Saturday lunch and they have a lunch menu. The place is simply decorated and clean. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the gyro salad for $8.95. It is a large portion and the salad and tomatoes were fresh. The gyro meat is well seasoned. The vinaigrette was homemade and full of flavor. I requested a side of tzatziki that was delicious. My friend had the gyro platter with steak fries for $9. You get your choice of salad or fries. Service was okay. We had to request drink refills and the check. The food was served quickly. Overall it was good food for the price.
Growing up in the Detroit area, I've been to my fair share of Greek restaurants. Moving all over the country has proven to me that it's also difficult to find good Greek food outside of Detroit. That is, until I found Zorba's Taverna. My guy and I stopped in for a quick dinner. We were originally going to get takeout, but the staff seemed friendly (and let's face it, food normally tastes better when you eat it while it's hot in the restaurant) so we decided to stay. We ordered the saganaki to share, two bowls of chicken lemon soup, and 2 orders of baklava. Before we got the food we ordered, our waiter brought us hummus with pita, which was an unexpected surprise. The hummus was breathtaking! The rest of our food pretty much all came out together and I couldn't stop eating. Everything was so good! Plus, our waiter was amazing, he really made the experience even better. We ended up grabbing a to-go menu on the way out because we will definitely be back. The food was excellent, incredible service, and really fair pricing. So happy to finally have an actually good Greek restaurant so close to home!
Stopped by for a second visit. We were happy to see that the service was a bit more robust this time around. We were promptly greeted by a friendly waiter, then ordered and had drinks served within a few minutes. The food was great this time too. Our table got a souvlaki, gyro, Greek salad, fries, tzatziki, and orzo in tomato sauce...and all were delicious, every bite. The kefthedes were a huge disappointment however. There was barely any meat in them! It was like we were eating spongy, fried bread crumb balls. Pretty revolting. That aside though, we were quite pleased with the meal and for just over $8 a head you really can't go wrong. Recommended!
The atmosphere was awesome nice music made for a Fun hearted evening . The weather was cool breezy as we enjoyed eating our meal outside. Lampshank was the best I ever had. The appetizer we had was octopus which is their specialty . Fresh amazingly tender, flavorful, charbroiled to perfection, homemade Tzatizki and hummus that comes complementary was an added bonus . Everything made from scratch if your looking for true authentic greek food to suit even the finickiest palette for Mediterranean flavor this is a place you will want to swing by. The people are super friendly and go out of their way to make it wonderful meal.
