Went there around 1PM, hungry after travelling to the island from Pakse and looking forward to a fully vegan restaurant in Laos! Unfortunately upon arrival I was told that they didn't serve food that day as the owner didn't go to the marketWhen I asked about the upcoming days the lady just said no no so I left and opted for Jasmine instead and ate there throughout my stay on Don Det. I mean I totally understand the concept of living on an island and being dependent on someone that goes to the local market everyday but it still was a bit of a letdown
This is ina lovely spot on the east side of Don Det, worth a bike ride over to! Has it's own private spot on a beach too. Seemingly the only fully vegan place on the island and so lovely. We ate some typical Laotian curry and it was delicious!
I've tried pumpkin burger and it was the best burger I've eaten. everything is freshly prepared. Owner is super nice and friendly ;
The pumpkin burger was delicious and with the fries and salad, in my opinion, is fairly priced and certainly filling. The staff is also super super friendly. However, myself and two others ordered burgers which took a bit over two hours to arrive. No exaggeration. We are patient and content people so it was no big deal and you can tell much love went into making them but 2 hours is record time for me personally. If you're willing to wait go for it but do not give them a hard time. Think of it as not a restaurant but a friend just preparing you a meal in their home.
