Thompson Tavern - Dover

A place where they treat you like family. Always seeing something, we have something to eat or just want a quick drink. The waiting staff is phenomenal, owners are the bomb!

This place is so much fun! Nakita was amazing and she was so much fun! She helped us with Keno and also made us amazing drinks! This is a great environment to have a good time! Also the food portions are from this world and amazing!!! Will definitely be back!!

Great food, good prices, nice view of downtown Dover!

Food was great cajan chicken Alfredo shown below was amazing, waitress was great, nice spot in Dover to hang out. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because they don't have any kids options I didn't realize this prior to being invited so it was an awkward environment for my toddler. We did end up there on Thursday which is $5 pizza night so my 4 year old was happy and my pocket didn't hurt so bad for a $12 chicken tender meal she'd never finish. Hopefully more inclusive for families in the future, seeing as how many are in and out before the night crowd comes out!

I went to Thompson last Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by the diverse menu offered in the sports bar atmosphere. The service was friendly and the portion sizes were generous, enough to feed two people. The prices were reasonable. All three meals we ordered were delicious, although the chicken in the Alfredo was slightly charred. The baby back ribs were some of the best I've had, with meat that fell off the bone. The sweet potato fries were crispy and not greasy. Ryan, the boss, came out to greet us with a smile. As a craft beer lover, I would like to see a larger beer selection, but overall we will definitely be returning. I hope they maintain their consistency so we can enjoy another meal in downtown Dover. - Steve Muise
