More choices than some of the other traditional German restaurants which got us to try so much more. Had the solyanka and the roast with raisin. So flavorful with a good Dunkel beer.
We had a schnitzel, which was just as it should be and the Paulaner beer was as always good. Nothing out of the ordinary but absolutely nothing wrong. Would come back anytime.
Having spent the previous 10 days eating (largely) standard German fare, what a very pleasant surprise to eat an imaginately prepared version of Wiener schnitzel (me) and cheese dumplings with salad (my partner). The Sophienkeller, located in the catacombs of the baroque Taschenbergpalais, is rather a tourist establishment, because a gastronomic.
