They light the fireplace in the winter and on cold Texan days like today (35F it was a perfect place for a day date! We ordered deviled eggs and wings were delicious and crispy with a smoky flavor. The fried buffalo chicken sandwich was fantastic! If you like veggies, ask to substitute them for fries. The medley of green beans was deliciously seasoned and a welcomed option aside from fries. Their cozy bar makes a variety of great cocktails with local dripping springs vodka and has a surprising selection of whiskeys. If you prefer, I heard their **** Marys are filling and delightfully Tangy! In the spring and summer, you can eat outside with the kids. They have a small swing set. Although the place is tight, so please make sure your kids can behave so as not to disturb other patrons. I would say this is a Texan- Southern home cooking vibe! Next time, we will come specifically for wine and dessert! Adult goals are important and vital to have; !! Add Homespun Kitchen to your adult goal list too!
Good lunch, good food, good bar. The chicken fried steak was on point, but not as big as I expected. I had an Old Fashion to wash it down, good job, but traditionally, it should be served with the big ice cube. For the price, no details should be spared. Check out the photo, it is a beautiful drink.
Really nice casual lunch, loved sitting out back with the fans. Service was prompt and on point, the food was great. I got the chicken salad sandwich which I had no expectations of but was surprised how good it was! The fruit with it was fresh, I love when the simple details are considered. My husband enjoyed the steak burger and fries. Oh, and the strawberry lemonade was lovely!
A nice local restaraunt with a 4 stool bar, lots of vib and great food. Sat inside to enjoy the ambience. I tried the shrimp'n grits dish and was quite empressed with the presentation and taste. Super flavorful. I also sampled the fried steak. Very satisfying and the thing was larger than a bull riders belt buckle! A great choice when visiting this locale.
Seemed small and rustic, and the AC was hardly working. Sitting indoors was probably worse than the outdoor heat. BUT the food was excellent! The deviled eggs, lettuce wraps, chicken fried chicken were perfectly prepared and so delicious. Nice portions (although eggs could have been large or extra large, not medium eggs, for the price . The cocktails were lovely, but the desserts?! OMG, the key lime pie and the chocolate cake were exceptional! I would order both for pick up for special occasions! The wait staff were very busy, but as efficient as they could be and friendly. (Had THREE young hostesses doing very little and seemed to be crowding the entryway. All in all a great restaurant and a nice surprise. Just please invest in a good AC system.
