First, a welcome glass of champagne...then super attentive service followed by nice, not super big dishes with yummy...food at super affordable prices and for sure...those views...a just fantastic experience. Highly recommendable!
Great restaurant inside the Hyatt, where food was faultless but service just terrible given the prices: no one greeting us at reception, no attention to the table: it took a long time to get the menus, then to order, then to get additional water/wine...and I...guess for this type of restaurant I wouldn’t expect it to be an effort to get attention.
Walked in for a spontaneous Saturday night dinner during tradeshow season. Found this gem by searching for top eats nearby on TripAdvisor and again – did not go wrong. We were given a lovely table overlooking the harbour, and happily a bit away from the...louder part of the restaurant where lots of big tables were enjoying themselves. We ordered some drinks and dinner after a long day and appreciated the good service and helpful staff. Loved the menu – lots of options including very good sushi options as well as continental cuisine. The fish mains were very good, well composed with complimentary flavours and good portions but not uncomfortably huge. We also had a tartare which was tasty and fresh along with several sushi starters and mains. I was very impressed with the quality of the sushi in Dusseldorf – much better than most German cities. Given the large Japanese corporate population – I can certainly see why! The service was good even with a big muck up – our mains came first…after profuse apologies we decided to have it as it was freshly made and ate our meal a bit backwards. That being said, we were not upset about it as they genuinely were mortified of the incident, and we just adjusted. I can see this really pissing some people off but we were having a good night and choose to go with it. They offered to re-cook us a fresh one later but we decided against it. Drinks were also very good and the atmosphere is civilized and buzzy. Décor is modern and stylish. The hotel also has a nice bar which shares the pier walk which in the summer time opens up onto the harbour and is a prime place to party and enjoy before dinner. Parking locally is a bit tight but not impossible and there are several car parks within reasonable walking distance. Was very impressed with the Hyatt Regency food and look forward to coming back on my next visit.
The view and location are superb. The staff were helpful and friendly, but main dishes were small and costly. Overall, you can get better value elsewhere.
View is nice at night, food is great, service is great. Overall I always come back to this eatery, it is a pleasure, although on the expensive side. See you soon!
