Grub Durham

You know a place is special when people are lined up out the door at 2:30 a.m. It was quite an experience to see a vintage fuel station transformed into a charming neighborhood restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of enticing aromas. Wendy provided wonderful service, and I will definitely be coming back. If they offer a cinnamon roll, you won't regret saying yes!

We are from out of state and decided to eat here on a whim, and I'm really glad we did. The staff was truly friendly (not that fake friendliness you often encounter), the service was quick, and the food was outstanding. I had the brisket, and it was the best I've ever tasted. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they are LGBTQ+ friendly and have gender-neutral bathrooms, which is something I wouldn't have expected in North Carolina. If we're in the area again, we will definitely return!

We were a large group, and they didn’t waste any time serving us. The food arrived hot, quickly, and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone at our table commented on the wonderful aromas and how well everything complemented each other. This restaurant truly embodies the vibrant and positive atmosphere of Durham's inner-city neighborhood. They have a stunning brown turkey fig bush out front, and during this season, their offerings are especially delightful for all of us food lovers. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I’d give it a 13/10! The Mama’s Big Bird is definitely one of the top five sandwiches I've ever had.

Love it! the mood is great, the service is bombed and eating is even better. for lunch and for jeweled bird and sweet potato fries. it was simple and tasty, hands down the best sweet potatoes I had. 10/10

We thoroughly enjoyed our first time here. We came for brunch on the weekend and sampled their libations as well as a biscuit and breakfast platter. Love the local partnerships for coffee and atmosphere. It’s great to see Durham growing and diversifying over the years. Even with a line outside we ordered and food came quickly. Highly recommend!
