Very welcoming, efficient, friendly service and everything was spot on. We had a great night, the time flew by and the bill was really reasonable. Highly recommended.
I recently went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch after it underwent renovations. I started with pate, which was okay, and had roast beef for my main course. The beef was very tender and there was a nice selection of vegetables, but the roast potatoes seemed to have been cooked in advance and reheated, making them hard and not very tasty. The atmosphere in the newly extended area was bland and lacked any ambiance - it was too quiet and you could hear everyone's conversations. Some background music would have been nice. Additionally, it was difficult to get there on a Saturday night if you wanted to have a few drinks, as there is no transportation from Cranbrook. Having a local taxi firm available would make me more likely to visit this restaurant again.
Had an excellent meal with friends on Sunday this week, 2 roasts, fish and chip and a pie of the day were all excellent, the team were friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent value for money, plus I have never tasted Cauliflowere Cheese like it, really amazing, could have eaten just that and been happy. Will return and well done everyone
It's a lovely pub. Staff are lovely. Today we were kept waiting longer and felt forgotten tbh. Our main course was great, but our dessert was mostly just a bowl of cream, not the good lemon curd Eton mess we have had there before. Shame, its usually really good. Hopefully next time it will be better again.
Had sunday lunch choose beef large portions the best cauliflour cheese ive had great pots and wide selection of veg. cant fault anything went down with a great real ale.
