I have to say, we decided on a whim to go for lunch at this restaurant. When we arrived, the owner informed us that they were still working on the menu. We waited for 20 minutes, but she never returned to us or offered us a drink. Other customers who came in after us were offered drinks right away. As a result, we ended up leaving without eating or drinking.
We all enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. This was our second visit and we will definitely return. A special thanks to Patrick, the talented chef, and the wonderful servers!
Reading reviews of this place brought an old adage to mind, beauty is in the eye of the beholder . I can see why The Drovers Inn is so polarizing. It boils down to your expectations and your personal preferences. The Inn/Pub has been in business since 1705, so it is quite a historical relic. The interior is quite quirky, with some rather eccentric decorations, but we LOVED it! The pub is very rustic, but we found the food and service to be outstanding. We enjoyed some toasties (toasted sandwiches) with a local ale. Highly recommended!
This used to be a lovely village pub, since then it has been let go, a very non-welcoming landlord. There are very much nicer pubs in the area, try The Horton Inn or The Old Inn.!
