Was brought here by a friend and what a wonderful surprise! Absolutely a treat from the moment you walk in staff friendly nothing to much trouble, look around lotsof memories of the war/ childhood. Then the best treat out wonderful tea and cakes not shop...bought !! Homemade to die for and decent tea served in a pot with cup and saucer. Take your time and savour no rush at all just relax and enjoy!! Will definitely recommended and will be back!!
My partner and I took mum here after remembrance service, surprised no one in although the scouts laid on teas and coffees. It was fantastic with all the Second World War artefacts and old newspaper cutttings from the period as place mats. It was fascinating...reading these. The coffee was excellent as was the homemade cake. I urge all in irthlingborough to go and avoid your costa coffees! Mum loved it!
This is a new tea shop with a difference, it is an antique shop as well as a tea shop. When you enter it appears there are only three tables but in fact there are more tables in the counter area as well as a...lovely patio area. The homemade cakes were wonderful and tea for one had two teabags, so a quick stir and you had a lovely strong cup of tea, with top up. The atmosphere is world war two, with the waitresses dress as land girls. The cost for a couple was really reasonable. Will certainly be returning.
Comfortable surroundings and friendly staff, limited menu (limited only by the type of licence granted by the council rather than the owners' wishes: delicious home-baked cakes and scones together with tea and coffee, all served on quality china crockery). Only a few tables inside at...present but additional seating is available outside, weather permitting. Antiques and collectibles also for sale in the shop, but best of all no smell of stale cooking fat as found in most coffee shops in the village. Free refills with tea and coffee, too!
