I had pork and my wife chicken and we each had a dessert. The food, wine and service were all very good and the meal was good value for money. The atmosphere and staff were very welcoming and we wouldn't hesitate to eat here again when in Edinburgh.
Disappointed in the choice of the Pre Theatre menu, decided to look at the a la carte menu, equally disappointed with the choices. Settled on pate, it was okay, rather bland but edible, not enough chutney to compliment it. Had pasta with meatballs for mains, again nice enough, but settled on this due to lack of choices. The side or garlic bread with cheese was more like soggy toasted cheese was really not that appetising, so this was not eaten. On complaining to the waitress, she spoke to the chef, who refused to take this off the bill really. We had returned to this restaurant after having previously enjoyed the experience, but this will be the last visit On a plus side the waitress was lovely very accommodating.
The cheese garlic bread at this restaurant is made with brown bread, which we did not enjoy and did not finish, yet we were still charged for it. Despite complaining, we were told the chef would not remove it from the bill. The set menu offered a limited and poor choice of options. This was our second visit and we will not be returning. Additionally, we would like to mention that our previous visit was much livelier compared to this time.
We visited Asti b4 Lion King on the 10th of January and was impressed with the food which was really nice. We shared a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced and the waitress was so friendly couldnt do enough for us. Would definitely recommend.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and I must say, it is by far the best Italian food I have had in a long time. The ambiance of the restaurant is charming and unique, and our waitress was delightful. I ordered the prawn ravioli, which was absolutely delicious, and the tomatoes on the bruschetta were as flavorful as I remember from my time in Italy. If you are a fan of Italian cuisine, this is definitely the place for you!
