Sam's Southern Eatery - Evansville

Delicious fried Catfish filets!!! Very good fried okra and the fried green tomatoes are good as well. I'm not a fan of the onion rings though. The slaw is mayo based (also good) Fried chicken livers are extremely good!! The Jumbo fried shrimp are JUMBO. The ambiance is lacking however.

Wonderful homestyle food at good prices for good portions. It was our server's first day and he did a fantastic job, very attentive and polite. All in all this was a great first experience at Sam's and i cant wait to come back for more.

Super nice waitress/hostess/cook?. Interesting visit. If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything. So the nice part was the waitress ? the sad part was everything else. Go with your gut feeling from when you pull in. Over 2 hours and went to McDonald’s from there.

I have been passing by this place for too long without stopping and trying it. Today, I stopped and am glad I did. I had the grilled tilapia platter. It was phenomenal. Cooked perfect with some great spices and grilled onions on top. The sides, however, green beans and cole slaw, weren't so great. They were not bad, 100% edible. They just were not on the same level as the fish. That makes this a 4 star overall for me. The restaurant was clean, and so was the bathroom. If you have not given this place a shot, you really need to.
