The restaurant's interior emanated a warm and traditional Japanese atmosphere, making it a suitable location for informal dining and formal events. The menu's sushi and sashimi selection was extensive, featuring both traditional and avant-garde creations. The fish melted in the mouth due to its extraordinary freshness. The chef's special rolls were especially remarkable due to their visually captivating appearance and delectable craftsmanship—exquisitely integrating flavors. The attentive and cordial service contributed to the overall satisfaction of the clientele. The staff exhibited high expertise regarding the menu and provided impeccable recommendations, especially regarding sake pairings. However, during peak hours, food service was marginally more time-consuming than anticipated, which diminished the dining experience slightly. Furthermore, although the food was of commendable quality, the cost appeared excessive, particularly for specific specialty rolls. For sushi enthusiasts in Kapolei, Takumi Japanese Sushi Bar is, in conclusion, a hidden gem. It is a must-visit due to the sushi quality, the ambiance, and the service. Notwithstanding the extended waiting periods and higher cost, the comprehensive encounter is highly commendable and deserves a solid four stars.

Excellent food patient/attentive wait staff. What more could anyone ask for?
I 'm staying in the Embassy Suits Hotel where the restaurant is located.I 'm the only one standing at the hostess stand waiting to attend, too. Once the hostess gets to me, I hear someone say no take out, and the hostess asks if I 'm dining in? I say no, I wanted to do takeout. She then tells me they 're not doing takeout. Tell me, what would have been the difference if I sat to eat alone or took the food up to my room. If you ask me, it 's more work if I dined in. So this is the reason for my low rating.
Sadly this sushi restaurant deserves 1 star, hopefully they can improve. The sushi fish tasted old and even smelled a bit, I wasn’t sure if I should have eaten it and thankfully I didn’t get food poisoning. But the ahi tuna on my rainbow roll looked a brownish tinge and smelled fishy. The hamachi nigiri didn’t taste fresh either. The roll my husband had didn’t taste fresh either. And the worst part was the price, $12 for 2 pieces nigiri, and $22 for a rainbow roll. I was very dissatisfied with the quality and value of the food. I guess the good reviews must be from happily drunk people.
