It was very busy and was serving all locals, so we had to wait for a table for around 10 minutes at 1.00 pm. The tables are tightly packed in, but you could eat outside, but these tables were populated by smokers, so not ideal. Once seated the menu was a fish special or a meat special or a very quirky option of half and half 2 smaller servings, served consecuitlvy. We opted for the meat option, which turned out to be pork knuckles, served with both chips and rice. We opted for 2 mixed salads and a small carafe of wine. There was a dessert option which we did'nt have but looked delicious. Our bill came to 16 euro. The food was beautifully cooked and promptly served by the very pleasant staff. They don't speak much English. Really excellent food and outstanding value for money.
Get there early. They get very busy at lunch time. Prata de dia (dish of the day) normally a choice of two (one meat, one fish) but also other things on offer. Outside seating and inside but a bit tight.
We had a day trip from Faro to Santo Antonio by train (approx 1 hour) and this restaurant was on the way into the town centre from the station. It was full of locals which is always a good sign, so we decided to have our lunch there. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Staff helpful
