Spice Monkey is located in a classic coastal town building overlooking Wallis Lake. The restaurant is housed in a simple glass structure, offering scenic views of the water.
We ordered multiple baos and ended up trying about 30 between the four of us. The food was sensational and the location was great.
We had nice dishes in the Forster Cafe. As with country towns or beachy ones in winter, not mcuh is happening after sunset. So when we came here there four tables taken (out of 8) so not bad. From what we read beforehand, the dishes we ordered were very tasty (chicken/ lamb/ beef). The (medium) spciy beef was maybe the least convincing, the spicies did not blend that well. So the kids did not eat it after the taste. The other ones, chicken masala and lamb korma were beautiful and like by all.We enjoyed the evening! The price for the main meals were between 18 and 20$, add a 4 $ for rice per person + drinks.
We have dined at this restaurant several but on this holiday visit to Forster we tried the take away menu and it certainly did not disappoint us. We were visiting a sick friend who loves to eat at this restaurant. The friendly reliable service was great. The food was delicious and represents good value. We nearly always eat at this restaurant when we travel up to Forster on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The restaurant is mainly open at night time.
