Very quaint little spot off the beaten trail off 7th street, food is good, service is quick and price is reasonable. Great variety! Great place to catch up with an old gal pal.
We were in Ft.Worth, Yelping a place for dinner, and my husband chose Thai. Tuk Tuk was a mile away from our location and had the right amount of stars and the reviews seemed okay; as it turned out, it just could have been so much better. First, let's talk about what was wonderful. The fried potstickers $8) were terrific. The filling was amazing and the pastry thin. They were fried so well. Crispy and not greasy at all, they were the highlight for me. My husband's Red Curry Chicken $13.50) was excellent. A large portion, it was unctuous and well seasoned. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it. We discussed ordering a rice paper wrapped roll; but I pointed out to my husband that it appeared to be vegetarian only vegetables and noodles inside for $6. When we asked the waitress about it, she indicated that we could add a meat for $2, so we did. I just thought it was odd that the option for a Meat or tofu wasn't on the menu to begin with. It seemed weird to me. There's usually a protein in a summer roll. The end product needed some herbs or something, too. They were pretty meh, although the peanut sauce was good. Anyway, someone in the kitchen has a sweet tooth. The potsticker sweet and sour dipping sauce was mostly sweet. The Tom Kha Gai soup $10) was obviously too sweet. My Pad Kee Mao $12.50) was even sweet! I wanted something savory, not dessert, and soy sauce just isn't a cure all. I asked for fish sauce for the dipping sauce and added a little to the other dishes, too. There were other issues. My flat noodles were gummy and with stirring, came apart, and balled up. There was very little basil or even flavor to the dish. It was truly a major disappointment. To go business at dinner was brisk and with only 2 people trying to take of us and another couple, answering the phone, handling the orders and helping with the kitchen; service was disjointed. They were well meaning and friendly enough; just no follow up. Ft. Worth has so much to offer when you are coming in from out of town. We'll try somewhere else next time. Those dumplings were awesome, though.
I got the chicken pad Thai (medium spice) and it was perfect. I even had some to take home and was even better on the second day! Highly recommend.
Very good I am looking forward to trying it again when I'm in town very nice staff very helpful even though I got there right before closing
