Roy's - Freetown

I really enjoy Roy’s! I always make sure I stop in for lunch or dinner at Roy’s. The lobster bisque was excellent! Really good seafood!!!

Had lunch and dinner at Roy’s as I was staying in the hotel. The service is very good and friendly. The food at both times was good and tasty. In the evening having dinner on the roof terrace is very pleasant.

I usually do to go from Roy’s and the little issues here and then wasn’t a bother. About an hour ago, I went to pick up my food and found out that the fries was placed inside the burger. I asked for it to be removed and they did that. They brought a small amount of fries wrapped in foil. I commented on the portion of the fries and the quantity, as only one was brought and I ordered two cheeseburgers. Now pissed, I rejected the fries and as I walking out, one of the waiters called back and upon turning around I saw him coming with some extra fries on his palm. No kidding...he used his bare hand to bring the fries from the kitchen to where I was and went ahead to add it to the previous portion. I became so furious and told them to hold on to the fries. I called them later and spoke to the person in charge of the kitchen and he apologized, although earlier on he stood there watching the guy walk with the fries in his hand and laughing. I decided to ignore the whole thing and not post anything, but as I was eating my burger I found a strand of hair in it. Had to throw everything away. Really poor and unethical especially during this terrifying season of corona virus. If you can do that in front of customers, I can’t begin to imagine what happens in the kitchen. They usually do good but tonight was terrible. I hope to talk to the manager next time I’m there.

Roys is a good spot to have some bar food and relax with the waves crashing 100 feet away. I enjoy most of the menu,
